Peju Merlot

The love of farming and a passion for wine brought Tony Peju to the Napa Valley. A series of ideas – starting in his birthplace on the Caspian Sea, then France, England and eventually, Los Angeles — created the Peju’s Napa Valley winery.

Tasting Notes:

This wine is dark garnet in color and offers alluring aromas of star anise, clove, and sweet tobacco. Vibrant and tantalizing aromas of dried black cherry, cola, and white pepper greet the nose.

The palate is complex with layers of fresh red fruit and a sublet thread of sweet baking spices.

Notes of cherry, cranberry, and cola are echoed on the palate where underlying acidity and structured tannins promise a long life in the cellar.

The cocoa powder texture is complemented by smooth tannins for a soft long finish.

Food Pairing: This wine can be enjoyed with a varitey of foods such as roasted lamb, pot roast, blue cheese, and wild mushroom risotto.
